Test uygulanmadan önce, hasta 4-6 saat, bir gece hiç bir şey yememelidir. Test, bazal nefes örneklerinin (t°) toplanmasıyla başlar. Nefes, bir örnek alma tüpü içinde (MS-versiyonu) veya bir nefes poşetinde (IR-versiyonu), bir pipetle hafifçe üflenerek toplanır.

¹³C-üre (test solüsyonu) Uygulaması

Gastrik boşalmayı geciktirmek için, 200 ml portakal suyu (çocuklar için 100 ml saf portakal suyu) veya 200 ml su içinde sulandırılmış 1g sitrik asit solüsyonu içtikten sonra, test solüsyonu hazırlanır. Ekteki ¹³C-üre (çocuklar için 45 mg veya yetişkinler ve ergenler için 75 mg) 30 ml suda çözünür ve hemen alınır.

30- dakikalık değer t30 Örneklemesi

Test solüsyonu verildikten 30 dakika sonra, ikinci nefes örnekleri toplanır (t30). Analiz esnasında güvenli ve ayırt edici tanımlama sağlamak için barkotlu etiketler sağlanmıştır. Nefes örnekleri verilen kutu içinde, INFAI veya diğer kalifiye laboratuarlara gönderilmelidir.
